Welcome to the Tampere Coaching Circle! This event will be held on August 17th, 2018 at 17.30-20:00.
In this Coaching Circle we will run a simple accelerated learning Coaching Card module of maximum 1h 30m. We will cover the basics about Coaching Cards and Coaching Structures and do some exercises using real-life cases (with fallback on predefined case studies). All participants are invited to bring a non-trivial team problem that they would like to have solved.
The Coaching Card is a simple but powerful template for ScrumMasters, line managers and Agile Coaches who are interested in coaching their teams to become more mature. (If you’re not interested in that, you’re probably in the wrong job.)
Coaching Cards are based on the OODA loop (inspect and adapt) and on Karl Tomm’s coaching model. It very specifically uses observations, hypotheses, goals, metrics and interventions. The Coaching Card is both a thinking model and a template that gives some backbone to the coaching work, helps people choose the right interventions and lends a degree of measurability. It also lets several people collaborate around one team and helps junior coaches get mentoring and advice from more experienced coaches.
The facilitator is Martin von Weissenberg. He is a Certified Enterprise Coach (CEC) and Certified Agile Leadership Educator (CALE) in the Scrum Alliance. He has a decade of agile coaching experience and works for agile42 Finland since 2012. He sits on the Scrum Alliance CTC review committee and is one of the main authors behind the new book The Hitchhiker’s Guide to Agile Coaching (agile42, 2017).
